Villa Serena

The house

Built in 1968 by a Los Angeles architect for his own family, and carefully brought forward in 2021. The plan is single aspect and low slung: every principal room opens to the terrace, and the terrace falls away in three planted steps to a gate onto the beach path.

The setting

Montecito’s hill lanes are quiet and heavily planted, and this stretch is among the most sheltered of them. The village is a six minute drive; Santa Barbara airport is twenty five minutes.
